Believe me, I understand the sentiment! When I got up yesterday and saw the quake on the news, the first thing I did was pick up my cell phone and try to call my brother who is in Tokyo. Of course there was no answer. He was unable to get in touch with any of us until around 3 o'clock here that day. I'm going to force him to get on twitter now! Ha!
Yes, it's really amazing how useful it can be! Same with friends here who have friends over there - they went on the friends over there, the FB page and saw the posts about their being OK... Can give peace...
