After such a grand time at Rosemary Beach earlier this month, Carole and I will be doing more destination workshops together! We have both proclaimed teaching painting as one of the greatest joys of all the work we do. What we love most - the people we get to meet and know, helping people tap into their creativity (yes, you do have it!), feeling that this teaching and sharing is part of our ministry!

LENT & MOM'S BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday, Mom!!! Mom is celebrating 69 years today which is also the first day of Lent!

Just wondering............ Do any of you give up something for Lent??? I'm curious to know what kinds of things, habits, stuff, etc. that people give up. I guess in recent years, I haven't really given up anything in particular at this time, but rather have tried to be more conscious and mindful of what's to come as we celebrate Easter. It's a chance for us to become more conscious of the greatest gift - that God gave up His only son so that we could have everlasting life. How awesome a gift!!!

I'd love to know what you do at this time, if anything!

NEW PAINTING CLASS - SESSION II EARLY SPRING

If you've ever wanted to learn to paint, sign up for one of my classes! I teach adults in 6 - week sessions for 2 hours. I will demonstrate some of my techniques and ways that I approach the canvas with oils or acrylic. You will paint at least 2-4 paintings depending on your pace. You may paint in any style you feel comfortable. I don't want to make you into another Claire Kayser - I want to help you find YOUR wings! All it takes is a little courage to create! Come - be completely taken away for 2 hours out of your week. Learn a new way of seeing!

Morning class: 10 am - 12 pm

Afternoon class: 4 pm - 6 pm

Yesterday, was President's Day, and the kids were out of school. My friend Eileen, her 3 boys, and my 3 kids and I all went to the Mall of America. We let the kids ride lots of rides. These 3 pics are some quick close-ups I did of my 3 while waiting for a ride.

This image below is one of my crew of girls. Carole, Carla, Marcia, Eileen and me. We were at the Trading Post store getting goodies for our loved ones on the cold day. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....


This is Carole, Eileen and Marcia at The Wild Olive. Great little deli restaurant. That day we had Ahi Tuna salads. The next day we had the best pizza - shrimp, feta cheese, black olives, green onions and rosemary pizza. YUMMY!!!


This is one of my favorite image with Eileen in a decorator's shop called The Tracery. We loved that artist's work!


The Atlanta Gals! They wanted to do a photo shoot with Carole and me on the beach. It was about 30 degrees and windy, but fun anyway!

Sylvia Holler took Carole's and my painting workshop and then wanted to do a photo shoot with her Atlanta girlfriends having fun on the beach! Even though is was freezing, literally about 30 degrees and windy, we shot and still got great images. This video shows it all in action!

Painting Weekend in Rosemary Beach, FL!!!

I had a wonderful time in Rosemary Beach last weekend (despite the cold weather) with my twin sister Carole Foret, friends Eileen Armitage, Marsha Whitaker, and Carla Swinney. We were there for the Girls Getaway Weekend put on by Kim Jameson of Columbia, TN and Kathy Kemp of Rosemary Beach. This event was so much fun packed with events that interested women. We girls got to stay in this great home that some family so generously allowed us to use for the weekend. (THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!). Carole shot this video tour of the house. Take a look!




This image is of Kathy Kemp and me and the 45 min. painting I did of her during the "Meet and Greet" on Friday evening. I tried to capture a likeness of her the best I could in the almost candle light of the room and the time constraint. I think I got a likeness. What about you?



The first day (on Friday) Carole and I taught our painting workshop. We have so much fun teaching together, and we receive so much blessed fulfillment teaching these ladies ways to create images on canvas. Seeing THEIR joy is AWESOME! We hope to go to more cities to teach in the future. Want us to come to yours??? Just contact us! I also sold 5 paintings there - HAPPY ME! Pink Bikini went to Kim Jameson as she saw her daughter in it. Her daughter has beautiful red hair, too. :)

OK, hhhhhhhhhhhhh, I just finished this painting (10"x10") and need to mail all my paintings today to Carole's studio. We will take them all down to Rosemary Beach for our show and workshop! I think I'm happy with this one. I used sand in the bottom left area to give a "beachy" texture. Would love any comments!

Imaging USA - San Antonio, TX

It's been about aweek since I got home from San Antonio for the great PPA hosted Imaging USA! Awesome time we had meeting so many great people that I've corresponded with over the last months and years in one case (Jenny Driscoll) and finally had the chance to meet. The trade show exhibited all the latest and greatest that the photography industry has to offer. Many legendary photographers and up and coming photographers spoke and shared their wonderful work and advice. All and all, it was a very valuable and enriching experience! More pics later....

Pink Bikini

I'm painting for the big Women's Getaway Weekend at Rosemary Beach the first weekend in Feb. Carole and I are the guest featured artists! We will be presenting paintings and photography and will be teaching a workshop, too. Should be lots of fun!
I've just finished this painting I started earlier today during my painting class! I'm trying to keep a simple look, somewhat abstract and simple. Your comments would be greatly appreciated!

Hot day with Eileen and Hot Mama!

Just had a fun little shopping and lunch outing with my friend Eileen, and we ended up at the Hot Mama store at Victoria Crossing in St. Paul. This store is awesome for any woman looking for some the hottest, trendiest looks of today for the expecting Mom-to-be as well as any other "hot" lady! See the wonderful Hot Mama crew from the St. Paul store! They fixed me up with a classy and, well, HOT, outfit for Imaging USA in San Antonio next weekend. Thanks, ladies!!!

Helga on Peter's Wall!

Yes, we went to Peter's house last night for dinner. He's about to paint his dining room red, and he wanted me to paint a figure on the wall first. He had Andrew Wyeth's Helga nude in a frame, so I used it to do a figure. Here she is! Used only a fat wall brush... FUN!!!

During My Quiet Time this Morning

During my prayer time this morning, I was so taken by the color in the clouds through a narrow window in my kitchen. I quickly went up to our 3rd floor and shot this! Enjoy and be blessed!

Peter & Pheasants!

Wow! Our minister Peter who is new to hunting, showed up at our door at 10:00 Wednesday night. He had said that if he got any pheasants he would come and lay them on our table. HE DID! He and is cute dog Barney were tired after a day of hunting - you can see the sleepiness in Barney's eyes. Peter was elated, to say the least. Look at the beautiful colors in these birds. Way to go Peter!
